Dattawadi is a low income group community, which was once a slum. Now most of the children go to the local municipal. school. In spite of this their learning levels remain very low. Recognizing this, Door Step School runs Study Classes for children in 1st and 2nd grade. Additionally there is a reference library for older children. Also a computer class is conducted in order to give children exposure to this important skill.
1) Improve the math and language skills of in-school children.
2) Supplement education with other activities and extra-curricular reading
3) Impart computer literacy skills
Door Step School provides education to children who (a) do not attend school (b) drop out early (c) have low learning levels
The study centre run by Door Step School is located in the community hall of the Tapobhoomi Hou. Soc., Dattawadi, Pune.
