Asha’s Mirzapur Project aims to replicate the model that Asha Chennai had developed for Government Schools in Chennai. Asha Chennai has seen a huge progress since the last 7 - 8 years, in providing education to a number of Government Schools. Asha Chennai has also started RTCs (Rural Technology Centres) in several areas, thereby providing Computer Science education to students after school hours.
The Mirzapur Project is just over a year old and the Project has already conducted several events since its inception.
The Project was started in Oct 2023 starting with two schools and it has now grown to 7 schools at the end of 2024. Initially, Computer Science was the main focus so that digital literacy can be achieved. For this Asha developed a Computer Science Curriculum for the UP Children, which is followed by the Mirzaur Asha teachers to teach the School students. Now the UP State Board curriculum for other Subjects like English, Maths and Science are slowly being mapped and incorporated into Asha’s Kanini website. The idea is to make content available to the Government teachers who can also then use the website to teach the students.
