As the novel Coronavirus pandemic crosses 1 Million cases across the world and several countries are enduring a lock-down, the marginal communities across the world are hardest hit. In India, lakhs of daily wage laborers have lost their jobs as the country enters the second week of the lock-down. Several grassroots level organizations are reporting a shortage of food and sanitary products for the underprivileged communities – migrant laborers and their children, rural communities, orphans and homeless population.
Because of lock-down children of Asha Projects and Schools are are not getting mid-day meals, our teachers are not getting paid and parents are forced to resist social distancing to feed their family! In these difficult times, active community participants from Asha have already mobilized local youth to help the most vulnerable population. This project aims to support them monetarily so that they may expand and continue being the lifeline for families in the region.
