Project Prakash performs the following:
1. Outreach - Prakash teams go to different villages, hold screening camps to find children that they can help, and bring them to New Delhi for surgery
2. Treatment - provide surgery free of cost to the children, at the highest quality
3. Education - Support the education of children who have undergone surgery and provide eye glasses to those who were identified as needing them in the screening camps
Project Prakash is a revolutionary project which performs surgery for congenital cataracts to allow children and young adults to see for the first time in their lives.
Project Prakash is the brain child of Prof. Pawan Sinha of MIT. The team identifies children who will benefit from surgery for congenital cataracts, performs surgery, and attempts to mainstream the children for their education.
