The main livelihood activities of the parents of children is agriculture and since Kiphire being far from state capital people are deprived from many opportunities which the government provides moreover developmental activities are also slow and the people have to depend on natural resource for survival.
Around 50% of the children parents are living in villages doing agriculture and around 15% of children parents are wage earners and the rest government employee or self employed. Also around 50% of the children as young as 5 years are also rented a house and are staying near cousins or family friends since their parents have to be in the field to feed them.
The social condition of some of the children in the school is pathetic and it is very difficult to impose strict rules also since this very young children and taking care of self as they stay far from parents.
None of the students are employed except few go for wage earning when they are free.

As students do not prefer to go to government schools because teachers do not come on time and the system is also affected by politics. Which means some teachers are on transfer in the middle of the academic year some assigned to other official works some engaged to election process of the
government and also many government leave for teachers making the students not to prefer
government run schools.
In addition most teachers who are in duty fail to perform duties like they should and the students are
not taught properly. Students go to school but they are send back early or sometimes let them play
whole day or sit ideal and the teachers do the personal work in office without taking classes this are
some of the factors. And the list goes on..
In most cases in government schools mid day meal are not provided to students though there are and it is being misused by the teachers in charge.
The school started in 2008 with LKG to 3 rd class. Over the years additonal classes are added and
currently the school has till 9 th Class. Next year plan is to add 10 th Class.
1. The school (Agape) collects Rs 350 per month as monthly fee in the last financial year and next
year it may increase as per the need because if there is hike in government employee salary
teachers salary has to be increased as well. Apart from this no other collection from students
and the school manages it.
2. Kiphire is small town which also has a degree college for Arts. To study science students need to
travel to Kohima which is about 300 kms but takes about 10 hrs journey.
School founder Mr. Lipichem completed masters in biology in Kohima and returned to his home town
to start the school. Initially the school was in rented premises and after couple of years it moved it its
own facilities.
3. Only few of the teachers are qualified teachers and rest of the people did not have teachers training but motivated so they receive training internally in the school. Teachers salary in government school is about 30000 and in private sector it is almost half.
