Ankur Vidyamandir, an inclusive school that has for the past two decades had an integrated group of children in its fold, physically disabled, hearing impaired, children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Sensing the need for inclusion of children who are socially disadvantaged, Ankur has since a few years also extended its services to socially backward children. Ankur Vidyamandir enrolls 50 children from backward sections of society every year. In school, these children are given training in educational as well as vocational skills, which enable them to develop into complete and contributing individuals.
• To ensure right of equal opportunity to all.
• To reduce and eventually eliminate isolation, prejudice and stigma attached to special needs while enhancing understanding and accepting differences.
