The RTP chapter of Asha for Education was started in late 2012. After hosting the first of many board game nights to raise awareness, several volunteers were recruited to join the team. It started as a satellite chapter to Asha-Atlanta. Asha RTP has now successfully raised over $3500.
- The first major undertaking for the chapter was a Holi Festival event in March 2013 which was a great success.
- In April 2013, team visited a nearby Gurudwara to give presentation about the supported project and raised over $500.
- On May 19th, 2013 Team Asha RTP participated in a half-marathon and 10k race and raised over $2500 for the supported project.
- Board game night: Usually held on the third Thursday of every month, Asha Board Game Night is a great opportunity to connect with old friends, make new ones, and donate to Asha while enjoying great food. The event is held at Tomato Jake’s Pizza in Durham, NC and a portion of the proceeds from food orders is donated to Asha for Education.
