On July 15, as we embarked on ‘Work an Hour’ campaign for the 15th time, we made a promise to 4,300 underprivileged children in India, to keep them in school. When deprived of an opportunity to be in school, in the absence of a minimum wage policy and lack of enforcement of the Child Labor policy, such children shoulder burden, earn less than $1 (~Rs.30) per day, and are abused by society.
At Asha, we believe that we have a responsibility to protect and educate girls; support children with special needs, and bring opportunities to children in urban slums. As our campaign draws to a close in two weeks, we have raised more than $60,000 from 400+ donors. But to reach our target of $150,000, we need your active support.
One hour of your salary in 2012 is all we ask from you. Give them their childhood they rightfully deserve today, so they can contribute positively to society tomorrow. Please support Today!
