MANNA is an organization that strives to provide holistic development for children with special needs, through early identification, and positive therapeutic interventions involving both families and communities and to advocate for their rights and opportunities.
MANNA is a developmental disability centre working with children with special needs. Manna is running a special education programme to cater to the educational needs of special children, who are denied admission in regular schools. Special education is provided to children with learning disorders, autism and other developmental disorders. The curriculum is customized to address each child’s unique needs. Different instructional strategies are used for these children like individual instructions, activities to strengthen concentration and attention, games to improve memory and visual learning tactics. Through the programme the special children have access to one on one education under the principles of ABA(Applied Behaviour Analysis), group learning as well as social and play skills training activities. The programme is run under the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). At present we offer an elementary level course under the Open Basic Education (OBE). Special children would be provided support to complete their education upto high school, equivalent to Class X under NIOS, which would help them to continue their higher education with other Universities which approve of NIOS certificate.
