As the children enjoy the week long Dashera holidays after their second exams the teachers are having classes of their own. Three teachers from Seva Chakkara are undergoing a week long teachers program being offered by Asha-Chennai.

Gauri (Classteacher I, Maths), Shanmugapriya (Classteacher II, Social science) and Sukanya (Class teacher - III, Tamil) will be at the training from Sep-27 to Oct 2nd.

The course is being conducted by Asha Chennai's Lakshmi Suryanarayanan. Lakshmi is the principal of Arcott Memorial School, a longterm teacher under whose supervision the school has advanced leaps and bounds.

The program, called Project Rightstart, offers training by practicing educators, and includes and integrated approach to learn subjects in the primary section, creating resource material and teaching aids as per school needs. The course is being conducted for five Asha projects in Tamil Nadu.
