- thanks to Aishwarya & Kasturi for all their help with treasurer tasks & coordinating with RSO. Let's welcome the new treasurer, Madhav & Asha-RSO chief, Divya.
- we will fund Payir one last time & proceed with documentation for funding about 10 Namma Bhoomi children over the next 3 years..exact amounts will be worked out soon. I have requested for a revised project proposal that accounts for any inflation since it was initially submitted.
- many ideas were floated to attract volunteers & engage students. Divya will initiate the first event - a socials at Great Hall(if available) in February. Next meeting will be soon after the party.
- need a concrete idea for engaging community at large. Gita called (from India before the meeting) & suggested Holi. Divya/Akhila coined the idea of a fancy dress for kids. Both are pretty cool ideas and we could combine the 2 to organize an event in April/May.
- need to watch out for events & collaborate with South Asia Studies Dept, IGSA, IMCOW & other student/community organizations.
- fund raiser ideas : bake sale on campus that could bring in some money from time to time, selling handicrafts at stores, checking with dorm kitchen about a special India appetizer event, 'walk with your dog' event, etc.
