The Asha Colorado Support A Centre program
makes it possible for an individual to sponsor the cost of education and total living expense for one underprivileged child in India.
Asha's role is to find a suitable education project run by a non profit organization in India which targets children who are unable to pursue education (both formal and non formal) due to lack of funds. Then Asha endeavors to find sponsors for the children in this project. Asha follows through by disbursing and monitoring the sponsors' funds. Asha will obtain regular progress reports of the children and build strong sponsor-child communication. The sponsor has the opportunity to become a mentor and a friend to his sponsored child by writing letters. But all letters will be opened by teachers and they will communicate to the child the contents of your letters. The sponsor can also arrange a visit with his child through Asha and the project coordinators in India.

Sebama Foundation
Sebama Foundation was started in 1988 with the primary aim of rehabilitating leprosy patients in the villages of Dharmapuri district, Tamil Nadu. While working with the leprosy patients the health workers were confronted by the plight of large number of disabled. The disabilities ranged from visually impaired to orthopedic disabilities. Sebama, therefore, started a residential school called "Mercy Home" for the physically challenged children of the villages. In addition to catering for the physically challenged children, Sebama has currently taken up the task of providing education, room & board for the mentally disabled children under their Rosa Vocational Rehabilitation Center. Most often, due to lack of awareness, such children are brutalized and abused, as they are perceived to be possessed by spirits. By providing residential schooling for these children, Sebama has succeeded in minimizing abuse due to lack of awareness and at the same time has increased the chances for leading an independent life, for those children with minimal mental disabilities.
We currently have 43 children enrolled in the program. The Female:Male ratio in the Rosa Centre is 15:19
